Charity Auction

The summer is going so fast!
Been making paintings as of late, will be in a group show in August in San Francisco.
My sister and her husband is here at the moment and it's so good to have them here.
Next week Bill and I are going to Mexico, to renew a visa but also for a bit of a honeymoon,
we never had one when we got married back in February so it's about time!
Mexico is one of my favorite places, the colors, folk art, dresses..
Oh, and of course day of the dead, I like the idea of celebrating the dead.
Remembering that this life is impermanent and try to enjoy the ride as much as we can!
I painted this computer for Lula a little while ago,
is for an charity auction that they are doing with Harvey Nichols.
I hope it will go for lots of money for a good cause!
Oh, by the way, did you see the Lula collection at Harvey Nichols?
It's pretty cute!

Bears

This month I'm in the German family magazine Nido. It's super fab family magazine.
I wish it came out in english too so I could read all the articles!
The story I illustrated was written by Elke Heidenreich.
It's about all these bears that come to life when no one is looking.
All the bears have different hobbies, playing the piano, yodeling and tending to the garden.
Kimchi bear was a loner, he was found in a market in Korea.
He didn't get on with the other bears and in the end he moved in with the grumpy old neighbor Mrs Moormann.
Now they keep each other company and Mrs Moormann has suddenly become a nice old lady.

Sommar & Sol

Hi again!
It's been a frightfully long time since the last post.
Much have been happening though, and a few things in the pipeline.
One of them is an interview with NYLON for their august issue, so keep your eyes peeled!
Also made two new little movies for Barneys, will post them soon.
And last but not least, been working on some more Starburst ads that will be up in Times Sq,
pretty excited for that!
First of July I will be moving into my new studio and start on a new body of work.
It's been great to have some time off to reflect and ponder but I'm so ready to get stuck back into it.
I' ve been surfing a lot and even though New York summers are great,
the most beautiful summer to me is in Sweden.
Where even on a hot summers day you might need a sweater for the evening.
Where you sit on the rocks by the sea all day, with picnic and friends.
Time slows down to a mosey relaxed state, reading, playing cards and eating fish.
Sleeping early and waking early, with the birds.
Where ever I am I will always miss my old motherland, the land that nurtured me.
That pale pearl of a sea that sometimes turns to darkest shade of slate.
These images are for her.
